Olive bud extract: a natural remedy to reduce fats in blood
The olive tree (Olea europea) is a tree that reaches 8-10 m in height and one of the oldest crops in the Mediterranean area; the origin of its cultivation is so remote that today it is impossible to trace the area of origin. The biogeographical distribution of the European Olea is in the warm temperate bands.
The root system is very extensive and relentlessly originates adventitious roots, external and superficial, capable of continually renewing itself: precisely this capacity for self-generation has given it the legendary fame of immortality. The trunk is greyish and provides compact, hard, resistant and valuable wood, excellent as firewood but also for cabinet making and the production of fine parquet. The lanceolate leaves are dark green on the upper page and silver-colored on the lower one and are renewed approximately every three years; they are the part used in herbal medicine. The buds appear two months before flowering, in early spring. Gathered in clusters, the white flowers do not exceed 5 mm and appear around May. The fruits of the olive tree are olives, which we all know, which appear in summer.
It is from the maceration of young fresh olive shoots that the olive bud extract is obtained and its organotropism is on the arterial vessels and the lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. It is only since the last century that these properties have been learned through controlled clinical studies.
Olive bud extract: properties and use
The olive bud extract has cholesterol-lowering and hypotensive properties. In particular, it has the peculiarity of associating the hypertensive action with the protection from the arteriosclerotic risk of the endothelium of the arteries, because Olea naturally lowers the blood cholesterol rate. These characteristics make it an excellent remedy in the prevention and treatment of arteriosclerosis.
The olive bud extract is therefore indicated in case of: hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, arteriosclerosis. In practice it is a powerful natural ally to clean the blood of cholesterol and triglycerides: it acts on the lipid metabolism by "degreasing" the blood and is also a powerful general purifier. For hypoglycemic activity, it can also be useful as a support for subjects with type II diabetes and, again as a support to basic medical therapy, in case of diabetic arteritis and gangrene.
Olive bud extract: how to use in association
- if it is associated with rosemary bud extract, it acts on hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia; (our advice: if you have hypercholesterolemia and triglyceridemia also look at cholestarmony plus, whose scientific study was also published by PubMed, and Omega3 active plus, for a synergistic action)
- if associated with the juniper bud extract, it effectively drains the excretory organs and will be particularly useful for those who, following dietary excesses, have an altered lipid structure, with cycles of 2 months out of 3;
- if associated with fig bud extract it is useful for facial neuralgia also known as "trigeminal neuralgia" (Tetau), with cycles of 2 months out of 3;
- if associated with walnut bud extract it is useful in case of florid diabetes, with cycles of 2 months out of 3.
Olive bud extract: dosage
It is recommended to take 50 drops of olive bud extract diluted in water and sipped slowly 1-2 times a day before the main meal for at least 2 consecutive months and one repetition after 15 days of interval. If combined with other bud extractives, it is advisable to take the olive bud extract in the morning before breakfast and the others in the evening before dinner.
Olive bud extract: contraindications
The literature does not report secondary and toxic effects at therapeutic doses, unless there is a certain individual sensitivity. It is advisable to pay attention to the simultaneous use of antidiabetic drugs (hypoglycemic action of young olive trees). For safety, it is also preferable to avoid taking it during pregnancy.
